Matt received his initial training in the United States Navy as a urology technician in 1990 at Balboa Naval Hospital, San Diego. He served his last 2 years of active duty service in this capacity. He then worked from 1992-2003 at West Virginia University Hospital. During his time there he worked as a OR/cystoscopy technician, kidney transplant coordinator, urology research nurse, urology nurse specialist, and finally urology nurse practitioner. He has been with Urologic Associates of Western Pennsylvania since 2003.
He received his AASN in 1996, and BSN in 1999 from Regents College in Albany, New York. He completed his MSN from West Virginia University in 2001. He is board certified in family medicine. He has privileges at St. Margaret and Butler Memorial Hospital.
